 Business Planning

As your partner in business, we want to provide you with all the tools you’ll need. The following websites are some we’ve found useful. Please let us know if you have any sites you would like to recommend.

General Resources

Credit Reports
It is critical that you review your credit report annually for accuracy and immediately address any errors. This central site allows you to request a free credit report, once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

eVenturing
The Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership is a valuable resource for both the beginner and experienced business decision maker. This site has details ranging from how to present your business plan to venture capitalists to sophisticated e-commerce.

Women's Business Center
Co-sponsored by the SBA and IBM, this site is not for women only. Contains valuable information for startup, emerging, evolving and expanding businesses with links to government agencies, the library of SBA articles and information, and other resources.

National Association for the Self Employed
The NASE is the nation's leading resource for the self-employed and micro-businesses. The aim of the association is to help the self-employed successfully meet the challenges of managing and growing their businesses.

Regional Data for Local Communities
This data base is a service of the Orbis Cascade Alliance. This website is a gathering place for statistical, spatial, and descriptive information about the cities, counties and other civil, economic and natural regions of Oregon and Washington.

Oregon Resources

Oregon Secretary of State
Information and links to the State Business Information Center, and other government and private business information sources. Register your business name, find out about the different types of corporations, understand trade and service marks, limited liability corporations, laws on business entities within the Oregon Revised Statutes, and legal information necessary to start and run a business in Oregon.

Oregon Small Business Development Center Network
BizCenters use a client-centered approach to deliver counseling, training, information and technical assistance in all aspects of small business management.

Washington Resources

Washington Department of Licensing
Get requirements for a professional license, renew a business license, check status of a professional license, and learn more about city and county licensing

Washington Small Business Development
The SBDC is a cooperative effort of Washington State University, Western Washington University, community colleges, economic development organizations, and the SBA on starting, purchase or sale of a business, choosing and incorporating new technology, financial management, business plan development, market plan development, and business research.
